excellent set up, honesty lounge which is a hugely unique and convenient feature. all the cottages are reflective of south history as rhey more than 150’years old. despite that they are all decorated and so many extras included makes it a truly remarkable guest house. additionally apartments don’t usually include daily cleaning or the owners welcoming you on departure and arrival and giving assistance with your luggage. So whilst they call it self catering it comes with a difference and truly makes it feel home away from home. you couldn’t get anymore cent and despite its city centre location i was in cottage 3 which was supposedly the noisiest well I couldn’t disagree more. it was private secluded and from 5pm i never heard a thing. I reflect on my stay and I commend the owners on all those extras like a Weber bbq on the patio to to a magnificent rocking chair so you can read while sitting on a huge patio all in your own private garden to the newly refurbished bathroom and it amazing bathroom and extra large bottles of bespoke body washz;!conditioner etc necessities.the plush blankets for extra perfect when snuggling on a huge sofa. i will most certainly be staying again and 10/10 to dynamic owners that truly care about your well being.

My family and I recently stayed at 5 Camp Street Guesthouse & Self-catering in Cape Town, and it was an absolute delight. From the moment we arrived, Emmy gave us a warm reception, thoroughly explaining everything we needed to know about our unit, which made us feel immediately at home. The unit itself was extremely comfortable, equipped with everything we could possibly need for our stay, including two bathrooms, which was a convenient bonus. One of the highlights was the inclusion of all possible streaming services on the television, ensuring we were entertained throughout our stay. The guesthouse's location is perfect—right in the center of Cape Town—yet we always felt safe and secure. The value for money was exceptional, especially considering the daily cleaning services provided, even though it was self-catering accommodation. Additionally, the presence of a generator meant that load shedding did not affect us at all, which was a significant relief

Our host Emmy was phenomenal. Wonderful communication prior to check-in, including taking our grocery order so that our unit could be stocked when we arrived. Wow! She was incredibly helpful with travel logistics, organizing a driving tour for our last day before heading to the airport, and researching/advising on how much we should pay an Uber driver who offered to drive us on a surprisingly sunny arrival day. She also kept us well-informed and made a back-up plan to address the unexpected bursting of our hot water heater just prior to our arrival, even waiving our grocery charges for our inconvenience (and we still had wonderful hot showers after repairs were completed). The place itself is utterly charming, with old and traditional architectural details left intact. Very spacious, quiet, private, safe, and in a perfect location for walking to dinner or "downtown"…everything we could have wished for.

I was really lucky to find this place. It is in a wonderful area of Cape Town with views of Table Mountain from the street and the property. It is a beautiful property - I stayed in two of the self-contained apartments and both were equally lovely and comfortable. It is close to Kloof Street - which, as a solo traveller, I felt safe walking along and you can also easily walk to the Company Gardens where you can access all sorts of museums and cultural activities. Kloof Street has an array of wonderful restaurants and cafes and there's a small shopping centre with a well-stocked supermarket for your needs. Emmy - the host was caring and helpful and made lots of good suggestions. The beds were really comfortable and the bathrooms lovely. The place was spotlessly clean too.

A very pleasant stay over several nights. The hosts were always helpful and friendly. 5 Camp Street is located perfectly for a variety of food establishments. It's ideal for a walk up Table Mountain (you can go from the accommodation if you have good walking legs). It has a nice park nearby and is close to main motorways for exploration to other areas such as Cape Point. It's really quick and straightforward to get into the centre, and a 20min walk to join the free walking tours. The property itself is well thought out. We stayed in a unit with 3 bedrooms, all well apportioned in terms of size and very tastefully and sympathetically decorated, with all the necessary amenities and more (e.g umbrellas, hot water bottles).
